Couronne de Chabot
Saint-Joseph red
Syrah.
The grapes grow on well textured granitic soil in a spot known as Chabot, a late-ripening area in Tournon sur-Rhone. Grapes harvested by hand at optimal maturity.
The wine is aged in barrels for 16 months.
Michel describes his wine to Yannick
Very fresh, very complex... This deep garnet coloured Saint-Joseph reveals notes of cocoa and very ripe black fruit on the nose, along with some woody notes. The wine is powerful and rich on entry to the palate and shows dense, tight tannins. I very much like its beautiful mineral tension and longlingering finish.
